1/ so i finished watching Chief of War on AppleTV, and aside from the history revision in service of «better TV» it was alright. but mainly what i want now is a series about Hawaii in the latter half of the 1800s — we had it all! the politics alone were staggeringly complex

I think we really should stop using antifa and just fully say anti-fascist and get them saying they are against anti fascism. Using antifa is giving them some distance and I genuinely think some of their base don’t even know that’s what it stands for.

At folk som skal få lov å bære våpen, ute blant folk, samt ha lov til å benytte det mot folk, har så dårlig våpendisiplin som det som beskrives her er pinlig rett og slett. Og farlig. Ser denne personen nå er "re-kvalifisert", så da er vel alt i orden, da.

Fastleger har mistet retten til å henvise rett til avtalepsykologer. Nå er det DPS som skal fungere som portvakter her også. Som er bekymringsfullt. Jeg fatter ikke at det her har blitt endret uten noe oppstuss.

What is "plenary authority" and why is it a big deal that Miller said that Trump has it over the national guard?

He then fully stopped talking and just blinked at the camera, as if he realized that he said the quiet part out loud. "Plenary authority" means "complete power over a particular area with no limitayions". It is equivalent to ruling by decree, which us how Mussolini, Stalin or Hitler governed. Having "plenary authority" over the military would mean that Trump can just use the national guard as he pleases, no matter what the courts say. It's a power grab.
