I was asked today what kind of educational background I had to be working in the job I'm working in now.

I think "theatre studies and a wasted youth full of bad decisions" might not have been what she wanted to hear.

A new study from Anthropic finds that gains in coding efficiency when relying on AI assistance did did not meet statistical significance; AI use noticeably degraded programmers’ understanding of what they were doing. Incredible.

“Even casual A.I. use exposes users to a level of praise humans rarely experience from one another, which is not great for any of us, but is especially risky for young people still working on their social skills,” Clay Shirky writes.

My video colleague and I have been giggling about these for days now. These are stills from a promo video of our current project for an expo. It's me and another colleague doing a guitar battle on Mars.

How America found out that the exact situation their 2nd Amendment was made for is now used in an argument against them. Also noting how very VERY quiet the NRA's been behaving in this.
The party that has spent unlimited resources and energy getting states to pass laws to allow citizens to openly carry loaded weapons anywhere - now believes that exercising this right is permission for law enforcement to murder you.

Honestly, how dumb do they think we are?

I'm planning an international residency with a predominantly Muslim country and we somehow managed to plan this over Christmas AND into Ramadan. Way to piss off all sorts of people wanting to apply (we had no choice, time constraints).

Photo by Pierre Lavie. Yes this is me. And I threw my Leica. It landed on the bass plate with hardly a scratch. Another Photographer grabbed it along with my phone and I was able to track him later. I was held face down tear gas deployed right in front of me and pepper sprayed directly into the eye.

Women who are absolute chaos goblins are rare in history. They are not nice people. But one has to admire them, going so, so, so much against the grain of their time. Admire them from very far away, that is.

I have thoroughly lost the ability to differentiate between real and fictitious. And not because of better fakes, but because of a reality that is so far from real that about the only explanation left is the virtuality of the Matrix, mass delusion or a Sci-Fi timeline split.

I've agreed to show the opera director of my local theatre my concert venue tomorrow, because this ABSOLUTELY COULDN'T WAIT. Over the course of the past few days this has grown to a traveling group that's now six people.

There'll be some hard expectation management happening tomorrow.

"This is to acknowledge that we know what is happening and what needs to be done. Only you know if we did it".
