Fight practice. Turns out theres no Hero's journey for the structure out there, but there are questions that can be answered to build one. Shit takes forever to do even when done fast, I am an impatient man.
1)Ordinary world 2)Call to adventure 3)Refusal of the call 4)Meeting with the mentor 5)Crossing the first threshold 6)Tests, allies, and enemies 7)Approach to the inmost cave 8)The ordeal 9)Reward 10)The road back 11)The resurrection 12)Return with the elixir
trying to think of novel ways to draw, again I think I'm reaching the bottom of the barrel, should turn my attention to story, things weirth expressing. Trying to get bk into gesture w/o construction at least, have a better mind for 'what' im trying to get out of the base sketch.
30sec gesture w/ color treatment after. More slow thought than lines, thinking about the relationships of line/structure to what is actually represented. minimal input to max output and why. I'll need to start adding BG thought in as im starting to find the limits of solo objects.
Figure as Planes. Planes seem pretty darn good at keeping curves through space, and pinching them allows for curve specificity. With exact directions its also easy to define highlights/light. Still more of a construction underneath but it can have clearer start/ends, space location.
Caryatid Statues Figure. As a pillar it very much feels like an extention of a cube and cylinder, in it works as a container device. Its radial (cylinder aspect) limites the defined curves as same-shape all the way around, so its better as a guide than taken completely literal (see second image).
LoopFigures- Modified formloops mixed with some depth of field practive. There's suprising preserving of flow/energy in diamond curves, with straights edges further emphasizing existing curves. They do not keep the specificity of a freeform drawing, but again as a base structure is a cool tool.
Positive/Negative Shape Figure. Graphic design emphasise work. I see it as a good way to break a figure into small canveses that can have composition rules apply them, or in a logo type setting, but with the large statements there is a loss of nuance for better or worse.
SpaceRelations Studys. I can def say that as a figure turns more into a building, it looses a lot of its curve options. pillars and columns have a little more options and ill probably try some of that in the future. Structure is good and gives birth to the creativity within its range.
