Fallout season 2 is leaning a little bit too much on "hey, remember this is a video game right? wink wink nudge nudge" style writing. The bits of that in season 1 were fun but it feels like they're overdoing it now

a guy who works at intel was able to replicate this and confirm it was a driver bug. hopefully it gets fixed

lol, steams "popular upcoming" list right now is just every game that has a displayed date of "2025" or "Q4 2025" listed

when I was working on Closure there was a new trend for (some) games where the first time you launched a game it'd skip the title screen and just load you immediately into the game, "for immersion". I wanted to do that for Closure but (iirc) couldn't quite figure it out back then

Just gonna say this again for games sphere cus we get the same question:
Networking doesn't mean schmoozing up to famous people, it means making friends with your peers. Then in 10 years, 20, one of you might be famous? And sure you're still helping each other cus well yeah friends.

Talking to one of these types at a con who asked how I 'got in' with so many 'famous writers' who I'd been talking to and I said "we made friends before anyone knew who we were decades ago by striking up interesting conversations and enjoying each other's company" and he kept re-asking the question.

I know people joke about the fact that silksong had a Marketing & PR guy in the credits, but the funny thing is that "say nothing" actually was the 100% correct tactic once it became a meme, & it actually does take an amazing amount of restraint to stick to that lol
