host of the EnterpriseSplaining podcast, a comedy podcast about Star Trek Enterprise (she/her)

Hi new followers! Did you know I host a very silly comedy podcast about #StarTrek Enterprise called EnterpriseSplaining? Each week only 1 of us watches the episode and then tells the others what happened in it. That means you don’t have to watch or remember the show yourself to listen and enjoy it!

Since it's a holiday week, heads-up that we will have an episode this week, but not about Star Trek Enterprise! Instead we'll be going on an away mission to visit a movie that every straight HS boyfriend in the 90s was forcing their girlfriends to watch. Trust us, you will NOT be disappointed.

This is such a well researched, in depth timeline of Krauss’s relationship with Epstein. Though, I did a double take when I got to quotes from something I wrote in 2018, bc I have no memory of even writing about Epstein then. But, it turns out I had some good thoughts that withstood the test of time
Mainstream news covered the Jeffrey Epstein emails related to ppl like Trump. Today, I want to take a look at Epstein's correspondence with prominent atheist and physicist Lawrence Krauss, who asked the pedophile's advice on responding to accusations of sexual assault skepchick.org/2025/11/so-i...
So I’m in the Epstein Files
Transcript: Look. I know that on this channel, I often criticize prominent people for actions that I find detestable: accepting dark money and failing to disclose it, producing propaganda for Big O…

I can’t describe how bonkers the memory alpha page for “ball” is. It gives fun ball facts such as that the football was named after the sport of football! And the basketball was named after the sport of basketball! And yes, every one of these amazing facts has a #startrek episode reference attached
On today's episode, we're on a 2nd contact mission, revisiting the ENT episode Canamar, which we realize is actually just the Star Trek version of ConAir (ConAirMar?). Also, in our Mammary Alpha segment, we learn about the absolutely bananas Memory Alpha page for “balls” (no, not THOSE balls).

Mainstream journalism is dying and our best politics news scoops apparently come from People Magazine now.

Apropos of nothing; I regret to inform you
Sometimes the twists and turns,
the switchbacks of run-on sentences,
the interspersion of
One.
Word.
Is not poetry.
Sometimes, there are those times,
when a gibbous moon shines on
a burning hellscape
of what is actually terrible, horrible writing.

I’ve done a lot of Epstein File searches today and my favorite find is this pitch from Lawrence Krauss for a tv show called Strange Bedfellows where he puts two people together for a conversation each episode. His first season proposal is a litany of canceled or deeply annoying people.

In our new episode out today, Bill tells us about the #StarTrekENT episode Canamar, a ConAir ripoff (ConAirMar?) where Archer confesses he's a smuggler (GUILTY OF BEING SMUG), Trip gets stuck next to That Guy on a long flight, and while T'Pol is in charge, everyone does their jobs competently.

Me waking up this morning to find someone asking for Diane Warren trivia. I was made for this moment. I knew the many, many hours I spend doing research on useless Diane Warren facts for the @enterprisesplain.bsky.social Diane Warren segment would one day pay off!
How many theme songs has Diane Warren written for stories about spaceships? Is it just two or are there more?

Woodpeckers put their WHOLE BODIES into the peck.

Every time. Super fast! They exhale like they're doing HIIT, their neck muscles tense. They basically become tiny feathered hammers.

No disrespect to Tate McRae, but I just can’t listen to her music because I only have room for three niche pop girlies named Rae in my life and the spots are already filled by Addison Rae, Jenson McRae, and Carly Rae Jepson.

Little Village is the neighborhood where ICE tear gassed a bunch of children before a Halloween parade last week.

It’s a joke to them.

The AP was able to identify four of the 60 men killed in extrajudicial executions by the Trump Admin. They were smuggling cocaine (not opioids) and smuggling seemed to be an occasional side gig because they lived in extreme poverty. These were not gang big wigs as the Trump Admin has claimed.
Trump has accused boat crews of being narco-terrorists. The truth, AP found, is more nuanced
One was a fisherman struggling to eke out a living on $100 a month. Another was a career criminal. A third was a former military cadet.

There were posts from friends of mine about Cheney that were hidden from me this week because of these automatic moderation filters. Here is how to change them!
Wondering why no one likes your posts anymore, even among your friends? It's because @jay.bsky.team and team have decided to hide a huge amount of content from all of our feeds by default.

Here's how to turn it off.

We learn that a federal judge has to order the Trump Admin not to let its poorest citizens starve at basically the exact same time that news breaks about Elon maybe getting $1 trillion.

Men are too emotional to be Supreme Court justices
Brett Kavanaugh's behavior during today's second oral arguments has been incredibly obnoxious and rude. He is so eager to kill a service member's lawsuit against a negligent government contractor that he keeps interrupting other justices, raising his voice, and getting emotional. Weird and erratic.

ICE kidnapped a severely mentally ill man. After realizing he was in the country legally, they seemingly just dropped him off at a street corner even though he didn’t have the capacity to figure out how to get home on his own. He was living on the streets for 2 weeks before his family found him.
