Since the election win Labour have

1. Appeased the far right

2. Delivered otherwise good policy ideas in a bad way e.g. WFA

3. Targeted the disabled with cuts instead of the richest with a wealth tax

The result? 808 Reform councillors

Labour need to change direction and be less cruel, fast

Awful April is worse for poor people - who spend nearly HALF their income on just SIX bills

Energy, water, Council Tax, broadband, mobile,& car insurance are all going up, & the poorest people spend 41% of their income on these.

Notice what's missing? RENT.

Your bills are going up because this government would rather protect the profits of a few corporations than the livelihoods of millions of ordinary people.

End this outrageous rip-off, and take water and energy into public ownership now.

Solidarity with the people of Turkey as they protest for democracy & justice.

The ongoing protests highlight the urgent need to address the increasingly autocratic regime in Turkey.

Starmer one again totally silent on a very clear issue of human rights.

🧵 1️⃣ Birmingham council could easily resolve this dispute but instead it seems hellbent on imposing its plan of demotions and pay cuts at all costs. If that involves spending far more than it would cost to resolve the strike fairly, they don’t seem to care.

Will the private sector benefit from the NHS job cuts?

Why did Streeting think this was OK?

WTF is Labour doing???

The government would be prepared to scrap the digital services tax on US tech firms such as Amazon, Alphabet & Meta in exchange for a deal sparing British businesses from tariffs. Meaning the 3 richest men in the world will share £800 million & we all pay for it!
That isn’t a deal it’s appeasement

If Labour followed the SNP's lead, 700,000 children would be lifted out of poverty

For a family with three children, Scotland is providing nearly £5,500 more in household income than Westminster is.

But of course, Labour couldn't possibly do this.

🚨 GDP Figures: Government needs to be bold

Securing good jobs for the future, along with collective bargaining through trade unions is by far the best route to growth. Workers spend their wages in their local economies - they don’t send their money to the Cayman Islands. 1/2 ⤵️

UK public debt £2.8trn, 96% of GDP.

It includes about $700bn of quantitative easing. Is it debt? By excluding QE, debt is 70%-75% of GDP.

Post-war reconstruction based on debt, 270% of GDP.

Govt can borrow more to invest.

Govt borrowing cheaper than PFI.

Why won't the govt borrow?
