yeah I also often think about how people think there must be One True Read of a work. I think a lot of people even within critic circles do not really internalize the VERY basic fact that various critical lenses are tools and there's several of them and even a good read isn't the Ur-Read.

Don't sleep on Absolum. It's not only my favorite roguelite of the year, it's also one of my top games of 2025. It captures the best of Dragon's Crown and Streets of Rage 4-- every run feels like a real adventure and all the fights are so damn cool. I loved it. Keep the roguelite beat-em-ups coming.
