a very small drawing today, on theright is a white shield with a dark brown swirl and little brown spots. I'll be honest, I was originally trying to paint a piece of curled up cinnamon bark with cinnamon 'dust' around it but it ended up looking like a cinnamon bun. Later in the day I had cause to remember Mike Parry's disastrous attempt to eat a spoonful of cinnamon, and recreated this as a crest on the left, It's an overconfident man with glasses and a beard spewing out a cloud of ground cinnamon. This was inspired by the 'breath of God' type floating crests where a pair of lips blow wind from a cloud 🌬️. You can watch the original nonsense here https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=IqmhuYtldd0

An albatross for the long migrations they complete. When I looked up references, I found myself on Wisdom the Laysan albatross' wikipedia page. Since that species nests in Hawai'i, I drew a Mahiole for the helm.

The distaff, spindle, measuring rod, and shears of the Moirai, or Fates, of Greek mythology. Wanted to use a Greek shield but didn't want a round one, so I went with a Mycenaean figure 8 shield, and a boar tusk helmet to match.

A heraldic coat of arms rendered in ink and copic marker. The shield is oval-shaped, with oval cuts into the sides. It has a gold band along the rounded edges, and is split in half down the middle, one side red and the other side blue. A distaff and measuring stick are crossed saltire at the top half, with a drop-spindle between them. A thread winds from the distaff to the spindle, and then becomes the center line of the shield. A pair of shears sit horizontally on the bottom half, one blade over the center line, threatening to cut. The shield is set at a tilt. At the top of the shield sits a Mycenaean helmet, with face guard and top covered in close-set slices of boar tusk. A jaunty horsehair tail issues from the top of the helmet.
