I changed back to the previous plan, said to be $109 and called "the Classic". Then I got an email from them saying the Classic plan would kick in when my current plan (the one they changed me to without my consent, costing $169) ended, which would be in 12 months!! WTF?

I am currently reading it. I ordered it from my local bookshop in Canberra, Australia. The themes are resonating deeply. Oddly, also concurrently reading 'Master Slave Husband Wife, by Ilyon Woo. - another epic American road trip to find freedom.

I feel the same way. I can’t afford to NOT be informed, but I take breaks for sanity. A clear mind and clear spirit are important tools in this resistance. One human can only do so much in 24 hours with such an obscene, surreal flood of 💩.

I'm baffled as to why hundreds of otherwise sensible, intelligent people at UN meeting yesterday sat for an hour listening to Trump's idiotic ramblings without stopping him (he went 45 minutes over time!) or walking out. Why is everyone in thrall to him? and still acting amazed at his behaviour?

He made it ok to act like an arsehole. He gave permission for politicians to not even have to pretend to be decent human beings. This was part of a global phenomenon to be fair.

Yes but Israel have been breaching international law for years now with absolute impunity so what are we even talking about any more? This is magical thinking. It’s trying to conjure the law as if it’s a genie. It’s saying something so that you don’t have to do anything.

A quote from an article in the Guardian with the headline “EU condemns Israel's strike in Qatar as 'breach of international law'”. The article reads:

‘Israel’s air strike against Hamas leaders in Doha breaches international law and Qatar’s territorial integrity, the European Union said in a statement late on Tuesday, warning against risks of a further escalation of violence in the region.

‘“We express full solidarity with the authorities and the people of Qatar, a strategic partner of the EU,” a spokesperson for EU foreign policy chief Kaja Kallas said in a post on X.

‘“Any escalation of the war in Gaza must be avoided - it is in no one’s interest. We will continue to support all efforts towards a ceasefire in Gaza.”’

One thing trump showed us with unwitting honesty is that fundamentally it's a massive real estate grab. Colonial powers have done same or similar for centuries. It's the worst of human nature.

I voted for the Greens for years as they were the only party advocating real action on climate change. They seem to have completely lost this focus, wasting time posturing on many other issues like housing and trans rights. They are a complete disappointment and I don't vote for them anymore.
