Disabled, wheeled, trans, nonbinary, bisexual, polyamorous poet, playwright, advocate and activist. I enjoy reading, writing, music, gaming, deep conversations, thinking about the Universe in the forest, baking and anything I do with the people I love. :)
Well, this has been fun, but everyone on this site is looking for a fight whether one is in the offing or not and I've been on Shitter enough to know when to bail. Good luck with your clone of a rotten system.

Historic Black communities are disappearing, and descendants are trying to save them

“Researchers estimate there are less than 30 incorporated historic Black towns left in the US, a fraction of more than 1,200 at the peak between the 1880s and 1915.”
Descendants fight to maintain historic Black communities. Keeping their legacy alive is complicated
Historic Black communities have dwindled from their once-thriving existence in the US and efforts to preserve what's left encounter complicated challenges

Anyone out there with #Sjogrens #Polyneuropathy? (Neuro involvement of both CNS and peripheral). I've just been diagnosed after a four year specialist runaround. Problem: I'm already at toxicity for Plaquenil and I'm allergic to gabapentin and its relatives. I'm desperate; it's affecting Everything.

We do not feel like a first world country i gotta be honest
This is one of the most difficult stories I’ve ever read. But it’s a horrific reality for some migrant children.

"The New York Times spoke with more than 100 child roofers in nearly two dozen states, including some who began at elementary-school age.”

Migrant children, put to work in one of the nation’s most dangerous jobs, are falling and dying.

Really wish that #GrammarPolice hadn't been replaced by radical anti-puncuationalists. "I hate Oxford commas!" "People who use dashes should be shot!" "Ewww! Periods are for GIRLS!!!". *sigh* I will give a virtual bunny to the person who agrees that this is a big world with room for variety. Right?

I’m so deeply fascinated by this ongoing conversation—and the one about internal monologue. I’m a straight-up 1 and my inner narrator is LOUD. 😂
I’m very late to this, but it kind of blew my mind. I’m skeptical it really exists. Don’t 5’s “see” their dreams? When 5’s remember their childhood bedroom, don’t they conjure an image?

TIL if you ask someone talking about their marginalization to stop doing so with language that actually marginalizes others, they will Eat You. This is because two things canNot be true at the same time, and if you're marginalized you're immune from being a bigot toward anyone else. Cool. #sarcasm

My favourite genre of social media post is 'white people explain racism to me.'

In her original 2008 essay 'Men Explain Things To Me', Rebecca Solnit wrote, "no man has ever apologised for explaining, wrongly, things that I know and they don't."

Same, only, with racism.

I can no longer sue Thomas C. Altman of Oswego for child molestation and abuse under NY law, as the set time for older survivors to file in court has passed. I opted not to, because statistically speaking, I can't afford to pay His court fees when they claim my myriad witnesses aren't enough proof.

Absolutely LOVE the new trend of so-called anarchists Cheering On Trump as some kind of "gotcha" because they Just Now Figured Out that Joe sometimes supports genocide. To be clear: I don't support Biden. I am not a Democrat. But I DO, for some reason, Want a VIABLE Alternative!

I can't build a car, and I can't afford to buy a legal car, so it's fine if I go to my local chop shop with a few specs and have them put something together for me from parts of other people's cars. Fair use.

#AI is not Only theft, it's Also a bad imitator. Only nonartists think art is about ideas. Artists get them volunteered by Everyone. Art is labor. It's what takes the pieces and makes them transcend their sum. If you're not laboring, you're not an artist. You're just someone who wishes you were.

LOL, back when I bothered going to parties pre-pandemic, I ran into that all the time. I got more ideas than I'll live long enough to write; I've forgotten more than that. Ideas are easy! But hopefully they'll occupy themselves with AI novels now and leave real writers alone.
