I'm here like... so... was Israel... holding innocent civilian hostages... the thing that Hamas is the evillest organization in the world for doing... Israel is also doing that too... but when they do it it's fine?
I just read The Dragon of Ynys, one of the asexual fantasy icons. It was sweet. It seems so odd that a book published in 2018 and rereleased in 2020 should feel so old and venerable, but in this space, it kinda is, and it has made its niche.

These are the most challenging times for early-career scientists and engineers.

My team is doing its bit to help by maintaining and even expanding our database of funding opportunities for early-career researchers.

We found 437 of them.

There's a good chance Homer and I wouldn't get along.
Here’s a question: who is the artist with politics you disagree strongly with, whose politics *do* (in your view) influence their art, that you still think is talented and whose work you enjoy?

reverse heist movie where a single snake has to chase all the priests back into ireland
Easy out, maybe, but I still really love H. P. Lovecraft’s stories and poetry. The imaginative descriptions and the creepy atmosphere still Hit

Happy 15th anniversary of the peak achievement of literary criticism, to all who celebrate
That's a recurring topic in Magebike Courier by Hana Lee, though it doesn't go as deep into the implications as I'd like

if you wanted a baseline against which to recalibrate just how niche your sense of the genre might be: this is a pretty good example of currently popular, mainstream fantasy. NYT bestseller, Goodreads Choice award nominee, 30k+ Amazon reviews at a rating of 4.4, touring to packed rooms of fans &c.
i am begging you if you're doing greek mythology retellings to do literally any research at all

personally I do find it helpful to be occasionally reminded that basically everything I love in modern genre is the equivalent of the strange life that flourishes around a particular set of hydrothermal vents on the ocean floor
reading The Sea Spirit Festival and WHAO I was not expecting a human sacrifice ritual. hell yeah I love human sacrifice rituals especially when everyone is cool with it because This Is how It's Always Been Done and anyway it's a super high honor to be chosen as the human sacrifice.

For the last 24 hours Twitter has been full of people mocking the everloving shit out of this “fantasy author” for trying to dunk on one of Hideo Kojima’s best creations: FAT MAN. If you’re wondering why everyone is making Orc City jokes, this is why:
