Private Eye offers up an excellently scornful commentary on the relentless polling. It’s become ridiculous and has oversimplified our politics to dangerous levels of stupid and irresponsible.
SHOCK POLL:
NIGEL FARAGE WILL BE PM TOMORROW
IN an amazing poll conducted
by The Pointless Polling Company, it was revealed that voters' intentions
may well change over the next three and a half years and at present it's 100 percent impossible to guess what the next government might look like.
However, 99 percent of journalists
agree that it would be much more fun if we had an election tomorrow and everybody resigned and everything was chaos and Farage had a go at being PM, just for the hell of it, because it was so much fun when
Brexit happened and then the government kept falling every five minutes and we could write endless pieces about (cont. p94)

I purchased this excellent table at an auction today for £1. It feels a bit mad that it should have been so cheap

Money going into high streets…

My mum’s advice to me and mine to my children. She always said that the subject didn’t matter, it was the fact of doing the degree that made the difference.

Rivals is the best of the series imho, Polo not too bad and I enjoyed Appassionata.

Probably because she is going to be pardoned?

Missed out on The Clangers and all other 70s kids Tv. Also didn’t see Grease or the first Star Wars as only came to live here in 1978.

And the thing that also enrages me is that they are allowing the right to weaponise anti semitism when we also know that Farage, Robinson etc are also deeply anti semitic and would never protect Jews

Thats not going to stop them. Those people are deeply anti semitic imho and probably think we were asking for it.

Yup. We have had to insure my mother’s stone in Norwich.

We were just saying that somehow we never really thought the security guards would ever have to do anything. Ours today was also a bit shocked I think.

Nick Robinson is a disgrace #bbctoday

😂 my poor son was so upset though. All the other teams went to the Empire State Building and saw the Statue of Liberty etc while the UK team ate sandwiches by the side of the road. In fairness the national finals in London were the first time his teammates had left Norfolk. I guess NYC was too much

Ooh. One of our favourites

Excellent @quietriotpod.bsky.social Sunday School today. @mrkennycampbell.bsky.social story about the Eiffel Tower reminded me of when my son went to US as part of the Kids Lit Quiz team and his Norfolk teacher was too frightened to move from the edges of Central Park and see the rest of New York

I beg to differ. We have just been the beneficiaries of what I suspect was a pilot scheme. My community group, Shop Fakenham, has just received a gov funded £5000 grant to set up a website promoting the town centre and to restart a Saturday market. We are delighted.

I think we in North Norfolk may have been part of a pilot scheme for this. Its been great so far
