This is one of the greatest color tools to come out for data visualization in probably 7 or 8 years at least. Amazing work (read the whole thread, too! this is just a random post from the stack of good stuff)
Contrast ratios give you contast for each colour against white, your lightest colour, your darkest colour, and black, letting you know which combinations don't pass WCAG guidelines. Clicking on any one will take you to my favourite two-colour contrast ratio tool with those colours pre-input.

Echoing @ericwbailey.website’s comment, I’ve had post ideas sit in my drafts for months or years because I thought no one would be interested in them. Many of them are among my most popular/widely shared posts, or the subjects of β€œfan mail”/thank you emails. Write on!

Other highlights for 2025 include the 9th anniversary of veroniiiica.com, I finished three semesters of my PhD in Education (where my research focuses on supporting students with low vision and CVI), and I have also updated 200+ posts and added many new ones. 2026 is going to be great!

Veroniiiica now has a text only view option that hides images and exposes alt text on all pages and postsβ€” helpful for further reducing visual clutter and complexity. It can also be used with dark mode! Check it out by selecting the Text Only toggle in the navbar at www.veroniiiica.com

For teachers of students with visual impairments, Veroniiiica now has categories/tags for each of the Expanded Core Curriculum (ECC) areas! This is also helpful for students and families that may not have consistent TVI/TSVI access. Browse post categories at veroniiiica.com/categories/

I removed the post slider from the homepage and replaced it with a single featured post, which is much better for digital accessibility and #a11y. Now the Veroniiiica homepage has 16 posts on it, which happens to also be 4x4β€” perfect for Veronica With Four Eyes πŸ˜„

I need everyone to go read this thread, because @echodislocation.bsky.social gave a very detailed response (with linked articles!) to @pedroblack42.bsky.social orginal question, asking if bats percieved an 'image' when echolocating!

This is such a fascinating area of research!

#batsky πŸ¦‡πŸ§ͺ🌎
I work with humans, so am kind of a spectator to animal echolocation myself, but it must depend on how you define "generating an image." Are echoes converted to specifically *visual* imagery? Or do they produce an abstracted mental representation that is also accessible to the bat's visual system?
I remember reading about bats' echolocation and how they "see" with it. Do you think that they create a similar reality in their brains with sound as we do with light? If so, how could we know?

I always frame citational practice as relational:

Whose ideas do I want to inherit and carry forward?

Whose/which ideas am I responsible to/for?

Which thinkers have offered me intellectual, emotional, spiritual guidance?

Who are my ontoepistemological ancestors?

#AcademicSky #AcademicChatter
Fascinating.

Root question is, what kind of intellectual and social practice is citation? What work does it do for us?
