Which of course means, it's a complete false equivalency.

These think pieces still, after all this time, want to put Trump into some traditional US politico box, and can't grasp that he's a disgusting aberration that's broken the system and needs to be torn out at the roots.
This is an odd piece because it seems to be saying, “Roosevelt was just as unilateral as Trump, except he worked through Congress.”

This is willful blindness from Moyn.

Biden removed political appointees, which every admin does.

Trump decimated the civil service and hounded hundreds of career lawyers out of the DOJ for suspected disloyalty (or simply doing their jobs).
There’s also just no comparison at all between Biden’s firing of political holdovers from Trump 1 and the firing of tens up tens of thousands of tenured civil servants under Trump.

Reminder that "jaywalking" was literally made up by american car manufacturers to shift the blame for accidents from drivers to pedestrians. "Jay" was a slang term meaning "idiot" or "rube".
“Jaywalking is permitted in London. In 1966, the police tried to crack down on it, but gave up after three months.”

People walk and cycle on roads by right, people drive under licence.

Jaywalking is not a thing in English law and Waymo must not change that.

Waymo’s cars were first rolled out in San Francisco, but the English capital’s old roads, pelican crossings and jaywalkers may pose issues for AI, says science and technology professor Jack Stilgoe

Agree. These out of control agents express ANCODI - or moral outrage fueled by anger, contempt, disgust (ex: "Fucking Bitch"). This emotional triad motivates their actions, devalues opposing groups, and urges desire to eliminate them.

Predictive of political violence.

Shut it all down.
happening this morning in Minneapolis -- ICE agents drawing guns on observers. I reiterate again that it is only a matter of time before DHS kills more innocent people in Minnesota. Congress needs to shut this shit down right now.

Nothing even remotely like the modern system of tightly restricted international borders existed in biblical times.
Q: Pope Leo cited Matthew 25:35 to critique Donald Trump's mass deportation agenda. How would you respond to Pope Leo in scripture?

MIKE JOHNSON: Sovereign borders are biblical and right and just. It's not because we hate the people on the outside. It's because we love the people on the inside.

The entire press corps should walk out, not come back, & we simply shouldn’t tolerate this.

Months of “Joe Biden won’t do a press conference.” A nonstop national story. Same with Harris in Aug/Sep 2024 & interviews. Trump does this stuff & everyone shrugs. It’s appalling.

TRUMP: You are so bad. You are the worst report. No wonder CNN has no ratings. She's a young woman. I don't think I've ever seen you smile. They should be ashamed of you.

Retiring Walmart CEO Doug McMillon made $27M last year, over 930 times the median Walmart worker's salary of just $29,469.

Walmart's wages are so low that its workers are among the most likely to rely on SNAP and Medicaid to get by.

I refuse to sit by as Donald Trump undermines science and weakens our nation's ability to detect and respond to global health threats.
