Did you know, the QLD Government says coal seam gas fields on agricultural land in QLD can cause groundwater levels to drop by up to 500m?

What an awful industry.

A month ago, Australia's Bureau of Meteorology (BOM) launched a new version of their weather forecast website for the country. It has *not* been well received, and with a price tag somewhere between USD $2.6–62.5M (it's unclear), this has become a small scandal. www.bom.gov.au

A good article on the real poverty line. The growing gap between the super rich and everyone else gets bigger every day. It is having serious political and social consequences.

Australia, like the US, likes to be oh so Holier than thou when it comes to human rights for other nations.
The fact is though, we run gulags, we torture our unemployed and homeless, we let crooks go unpunished, and we allow our media to bullshit and vilify.
We also profit from genocide.

The Government is trying to push through changes that will weaken our environment laws.

This is the same Government that changed environment laws to protect the toxic salmon industry, and continues to approve fossil fuels for decades to come.

Framing of a problem can either facilitate or obstruct a solution eg “older people are pessimistic about whether global heating can be stopped” frames their views in terms of psychology which is hard to shift whereas “many older people are poorly informed due to indoctrination” suggests solutions.

Reminder:
Green energy doesn't require war with oil-rich countries.
It's also sustainable and doesn't pollute our air.
It is also the future of the planet at large.
If we choose oil, we choose our own extinction.
So war for oil/oil = bad
Green energy = good

Jack Waterford: The public doesn’t want what the Liberal Party has been selling. Even more alarming is that opinion polls show that party is on the nose with younger voters, middle aged voters, better-educated voters, women and first-and second-generation migrants. johnmenadue.com/post/2025/11....
Will there be Liberals around to take power in 2034?

No, the Liberal Party no longer exists.

The Menzies, Frasers and that kind of person has been replaced by christofascists, IPA Atlas Network $billionaire, transnational corporate stooges like James Paterson, Tim Wilson.

All straight from the same funny farm as Trump’s appointments. #auspol

Two children have been killed every day in Gaza since the so-called ceasefire began.

Why has this disappeared from the headlines?

The genocide never ended — and our government is still complicit.
