It just seems crazy to me to roll the dice on a new coach, when next year could end up being worse, not better!

Okay, I appreciate the sentiment, but this is a little silly. Sports bring Billions in TV money, attendance, concessions, merchandise, etc., never mind the vast amounts of donations that accompany winning campaigns.

sports at universities should be treated like every other extra-curricular: they get their share of the student activities budget just like the drama club and the movie club. if they want more, hold a bake sale.

LSU is paying its previous football coach over $50 million NOT to coach there while likely guaranteeing Kiffin something approaching double that, all while having an academic hiring freeze and budget cuts across the board. What is the purpose of a university (rhetorical)?
