It just occurred to me that modern news media has obsoleted itself by its choice of both-sides-ism coverage of critical issues (US fascism takeover attempt, climate change, economy, etc).
An LLM can trivially summarize stuff as "X says Y but critics say Z"
What they CAN'T do is say "but Z is true"

It just occurred to me that modern news media has obsoleted itself by its choice of both-sides-ism coverage of critical issues (US fascism takeover attempt, climate change, economy, etc).

The meta point worth making here is that obviously none of these officials feared any sort of consequence for shamelessly lying their asses off in a federal court, which ought at very minimum end your career in law enforcement.
