On a personal note.

I knew Rob Reiner & his lovely wife Michelle. One of my happiest memories was chatting with them in their kitchen, making sandwiches talking politics, and movies.

They were kind people. Extraordinarily normal and very, very kind.

I love & miss them already.
Life is short.

Still processing the tragic news of the loss of Rob Reiner. I'm of the age when he was a huge part of my film-viewing in the 80s, and about ten years ago wrote a piece for the BFI celebrating to my mind some of his finest work. www.bfi.org.uk/lists/rob-re...

Rob Reiner was a force for good.

He was an incredible artist that made so many people laugh and cry.

Most importantly, he was kind in a time where kind men are in short supply.

He will be greatly missed.

The world has lost two magnificently creative human beings in Rob and Michele Reiner. Their violent deaths add to the darkness of these days, but their humor, their compassion and their love for the world shine an imperishable light.

We talk about why slogans and clichés don’t persuade people, how research gets lost without storytelling, and how anti-homeless narratives spread faster than the truth. We also dig into Housing First, public frustration, and what it really takes to change minds in a polarized world.

Australia didn’t ‘confiscate all guns’. That’s just a simplification for people who don’t read.

They reduced access, bought back weapons, tightened licensing… and mass shootings basically vanished.

In this commentary, educator Emily Blunt says we need to lead the way in valuing and paying ECE professionals what they truly deserve.
