Most of Michigan is in zone 16, the same zone as I'm in (l am on the North shore of Lake Erie). Here is the plant list birdgardens.ca/plant-select...; careful though, as you likely know already sourcing special plants can be an addictive hobby.🙃🌿

I was curious, there are 2 Mahonia's on the website, and both are western species. I did find that photo, it looks like my social media tool grabbed it from www.birdscanada.org/you-can-help... and the plant is Oregon Grape

Also - it is a Canada-wide website so it may have west coast or east coast plants that you never see in Michigan.

NO - it was not named on the home page of the website and I did not go digging. Chances are if you take a gander through birdgardens.ca you will be able to find out what species it is. The leaves on that plant are almost holly like - that does make me curious.

Meet the Ruby-crowned Kinglet! This tiny songbird is always on the move, flicking its wings as it searches for insects in trees and brush.

Migration peaks in early October, so keep an eye out for these striking little birds passing through!
