If you've heard about the outrageous decision from Waterstones to open a new branch 65m away from Leith's beloved independent bookshop, Argonaut Books, you should perhaps be aware that Argonaut stock my book and do online sales:

Hinata letting Naruto copy her paper during the Chunin Exam is such an important scene because 20 years later they're married with two kids and that's still the only time they ever interacted.

Hot take - Naruto is the only series that actually earns its "the main character is the savior of the world" storyline

Whether or not they bring back Cappy and the capture ability, i feel like hat throwing should be a staple of all future 3D Mario games.

There’s only 3 things you can do in the comic book industry. Setting aside formats, genres, delivery, for a minute: 3 things. 1: Work for 7-8 publishers. 2: find a rich guy (one rich guy or small pub headed by rich guy) 3: self-publish (crowdfund, etc). That’s it. It’s not easy, good luck.

In self-interest but also general interest, folks: Black Friday is coming up, and small publishers/independent creators will always be a better choice than megacorps.

When the sales drop, please remember that!

You should order / preorder all these books (and then some) from store.mangamavericks.com, not just because they are great manga, but also because I did the logo/cover designs for them

In film school I learned it takes dozens, sometimes hundreds if people to make tell the kinds of stories I wanted to tell.

But you can make a comic by yourself. Or like... With one or two other people. More than 4 and that's probably too many.
What’s the lore behind choosing your career path ?

Do you like old skool webcomics? Of course you do. You can read chapter one of DUZIDA online like it’s 2005!

I often thing about the Ouroboros bit from Adaptation. Not because it's particularly funny, but because I've met like 50 people exactly like that.

One time in 5th grade we had a sub who clearly didn't have a lesson plan prepared. She had us write a letter to the president about how we would solve the world's problems. Being that I was like 11, I didn't know what any of the world's problems were. So I just laid out how the Gundam Fight works.

Super Mario Odyssey feels more like a Pokémon game than most Pokemon games and it's not because you can "capture" enemies.

Why am I so against generative AI in games?

Because I simply do not want my initial reaction to art to be one of suspicion and scrutiny, AI slop is fundamentally damaging my relationship to art and artistry, and I am deeply resentful that it is forcing me to be guarded when I should be wowed.
