Hello, new followers! ✌️

I'm Andrew Leamon, and I've written comics like the Radiant Black #22 backup, Camera Man, Monolith, and Fourthmeal.

I nerd out for cheeseburgers, Chainsaw Man, Nintendo, karaoke, films, and music. I post pics of my dog a lot.

Check out my #comics:
linktr.ee/aleams
Cover to Camera Man #1 depicting a young man wearing a bright blue and red suit putting on a camera lense helmet. The Radiant Black #22 backup depicting a man at a retro video store waiting to buy a copy of Wild Things (an erotica thriller) on DVD and getting ignored by the staff until he gives up and leaves. A Legend of Zelda Link's Awakening fancomic depicting moments from the game with captions laid over discussing the journey the hero took and the importance of keeping dreams alive. A page from "Fourthmeal" depicting two unseen janitors washing the windows of a bell-shaped space station and discussing how different their lives might have been with different decisions.

Podcasts/Comics Media, you should have Tony on your show. Staccato is an outrageously good time!

Any podcasters and/or news writers want a copy of STACCATO: A Cowboy's Work Is Never Done in exchange for me waxing poetic about Kentaro Muira, dive bar shows, the state of the world and the best #punkrock #darkfantasy #webcomic that is now available in paperback? 🔗⬇️

I’m. So. Tired.

I don’t just want you to pay attention to Chicago because I want you to understand our plight. I want you to see how hard people are fighting and know wtf you’re made of. We’re not just fighting for this place. This is for all of us.

I've got no new comics to announce this weekend, and I hope everyone has a kickass time at NYCC!

That said, I might take a bit of a social media break this week/weekend to finish this outline.

Comics are good! ❤️

I have one:

Social media is a bizarre mix of advertising and journaling.

I think it's been bad for creator's mental health that much of the advertising has been offloaded onto them to do through social media.

Anyone have a particularly hot comic take?

happy sunday, remember that you are completely expendable to your employer and that when you die they will forget you ever existed within weeks and easily replace you
Work really hard and one day this can be you (followed by graffiti of a headstone that says “RIP worked really hard” on it

(And I know many of my thoughts and opinions aren't novel or new, but I think they need to be said and I stand by them.)

10. Hire me to write more comics! I'd like to do this full-time.

(I have a writer-only pitch for a hard sci-fi OGN packed with thrills and heart, so if any publishers wanna read it let me know.)
aleams.bsky.social
9. I said "preordering" in the previous take for a reason. The public should never hear the term, "FOC"! And readers should buy beforehand, like video games or movies.
aleams.bsky.social
7. Make a decision. Is your book disposable, should it be framed, or should it be on a shelf? That will affect your marketing choices.

8. Make things easier for readers! As soon as a book is announced to the public, there needs to be availability for preordering with a CLEAR deadline.
aleams.bsky.social
4. Cover designs have become too templated to cater to newsstands and variants. Shops have better ways to display comics now.

5. Digital and print prices should not be the same. 🙃

6. Flooding the market with 20+ variants is not good for the industry nor is it a smart strategy by itself.
aleams.bsky.social
I have many!

1. Sell yourselves! Put full names on comic covers. And make them larger.

2. Covers are for selling your book! Put solicit text and pull quotes on the back cover, even for singles.

3. Scale up your lettering for digital versions. Print scale is too small for MOST digital devices.

Just a little post to put here all the help lines from a lot of countries! Don't hesitate to reach out if you have problems!

There's lots of categories so it's really helpful!

And at last, I'll let a site that has all countries help lines.
It goes from depression, suicide and other kind of problems. Seems pretty accurate for France so I think it's maybe ok for the other coutries too. Take care everyone 💗
