Hello #portfolioday.

I’m Dave and I’ve written/drawn a bunch of critically-acclaimed graphic novels.

I’m collaborating on my two newest books, SPECTRUM and PLAGUE HOUSE and would be hyped to line up some more work. I finish what I start!

I also need an agent for some upcoming pitches!!
The five graphic novels I wrote and drew. A page from SPECTRUM written by Rick Quinn A page from SPECTRUM written by Rick Quinn A page from PLAGUE HOUSE. Written by Michael W Conrad

Same! Same same, I was up late working on a page for a pitch now I’m here shouting into the void at 11:15pm and I should be asleep haha

If you’ve got the time and energy!!!

Anyway that whole scene makes me just adore every person who takes the time to write about comics. I promise I am not trying to make enemies, I love you all. Rock and roll

FWIW if you all could see my inner thoughts about music journalism and the overall lack of awareness of what IS ACTUALLY HAPPENING in any given song, the bad ears, the waxing poetic b/c they’ve no idea what’s going on, like reading a review of a movie in Japanese by someone who doesn’t speak it

I love everyone who writes about comics (again, pro, amateur, LOCG, TCJ, ALL of you!), seriously, you’re THE best, no hyperbole at all, an important part of our little ecosystem. Just remember: comics are more than plot. And reviews can be more than just about your taste, it’s cooler that way!

My first draft of this said that but I ran out of space. Ack, it’s so true

Comic reviews (pro and amateur) that treat the art like an afterthought drive me up the wall. “Oh, also the art is great.” Well, gee, thanks.

Bonus points if they yammer on about how comics are a visual medium before spending zero words talking about the actual visuals.

Probably will delete this

Fuck this. It's trash, it's outsourcing your own brain and creativity, outsourcing your own humanity, to a massive bullshit machine. It's the hottest steamiest smoothest BULLSHIT of the highest order and DO NOT fall for it.

#Comics folks, I need you to pull up to this one.

The world sucks right now, and we have the opportunity to do a little bit of good for a displaced and marginalized member of our community. Please join me in supporting this KS campaign!

www.kickstarter.com/projects/den...
If you're somebody who values supporting marginalized voices in comics, here's your chance to put your money where your values are!

The writer of this RINGO NOM’D INDIE COMIC (and a very dear friend of mine) is a Syrian Refugee who has been through more continuous hardships than I have space to list here; constantly navigating visa applications, unstable living conditions, predatory landlords (limited options as a refugee).

Anas just wants to make comics and live a normal life like what so many of us take for granted. Backing this campaign will help Anas to take the next step toward freedom and autonomy, helping to fund a move to another country with more stable employment options. This is truly one of the most important comics purchases you will ever make.

Middle Eastern and North African comics creators are some of the most underrepresented in the comics industry of the western world. Anas isn’t running a GoFundMe to support this move, and is not asking for charity. Simply, Anas is using their talent for storytelling, along with Dennis’ gorgeous art, to offer you a beautiful experience in the comics medium, that also goes toward funding a better life for Anas.

I’m so proud of Anas, and humbled by their experiences and perseverance. I would like to see Anas’ Dream realized, and I’d love to see this community help to make that happen. Please join me in pledging to the Etheres Kickstarter campaign! (link below). Etheres cover B

@christophcondon.bsky.social, Daniel Noah, and @davechisholmcomics.com really take you into the zeitgeist of abduction stories. You’ve got that Condon Dialogue™️, a great story, and brilliant art—in page design and color. Really enjoyed this take on abductions, and the descriptions are gorgeous

Today is a day when arts degrees are worthless, but the product of those degrees is so valuable it would kill an entire industry if they were made to pay for it.

Seems like that might be bad—better write a letter to the editor so they include it!
