I know that views on the treatment of 50’s women are mixed. But the government’s failure to give serious consideration to the key recommendations of the PHSO should be of wider concern.

Average UK state pension is around £10,500 a year.

It is the only or main source of income for nearly half of all pensioners.

Average UK wage is £37,430.

State pension is less 50% of the minimum wage.

The hardship inflicted on retirees now will surely visit future retirees unless steps are taken to alleviate misery.

More than 100 MPs, including me, voted for Government to set up a compensation scheme for #WASPI women. This could be a hollow victory if the Bill is put at the end of a very long list

The Govt should step up & ensure WASPI women get what they are owed

Labour stood up for WASPI women - right until they got into government. Now they’re nowhere to be seen.

The SNP have supported these women throughout, and that’s why we’ve put a Bill before Westminster calling for them to be compensated for this historic injustice.
