Fundamentally I think the trajectory of winning electoral politics is appealing to the most foundational American value of freedom.
At present, that feeling is the freedom to do whatever I want
One wonders if the opposition party can reclaim the idea of freedom from want and fear.

It's striking to me that we have an entire oeuvre of films about a certain foreign people group committing mass crime on America soil, things far worse and bigger than any other, and it's just considered entertainment and not a reason to eject them all from our country.

there is a significant portion of the global population closely following the daily growth of chive-chopping ability of an anonymous stranger and have been doing so for almost two months.
