I am a big fan of "bad movie" shows. MST3K, Flop House, WHM, HDTGM, etc., but a few years ago I thought, "why not do the opposite? do a podcast praising hated, bad, or underappreciated movies." so I did.

the guest *always* likes the movie, and I provide historical context for the negativity. 😉

my beloved sports teams let me down. actors and musicians and filmmakers and comedians I thought I admired let me down. you know who doesn't let me down? cats & kittens.

apparently I'm supposed to feel bad for a millionaire pitcher who lacks the baseball intelligence of a 15yo little leaguer.

seriously. horror fans are as nitpicky as they are loyal to the genre. whenever AI is found in a horror movie, they notice. and by they I mean we.

"The consumers won't care if it's AI."

Ah yes, horror fans -- y'know, the people who famously ask "Are the FX Practical?!" about literally every movie -- definitely won't care that you're feeding them prompt-generated slop. Good call there.

I also need to know: I am fairly middle-of-the-road on Taylor Swift but someone I know called her the Greatest Living Lyricist. She is not.

Who is yours? Either the greatest or your favorite?

aside from Don't Fear the Reaper, name a great rock song that features the cowbell.

I also kinda liked it.

Yall lied to me. I fucking loved this movie! 😂

HIM (2025) is a maximalist, in your face horror flick that hammers home a very simple premise: The NFL is hell and the cult around it is toxic.

Reminds me of two other flicks I loved: The Neon Demon and The Lords of Salem.

A truly underrated gem. 👍

we need more movies from the spider's point of view.

film producers should not refer to movies as "content."

Jason Blum says Hollywood should 'embrace AI' and viewers 'don't care if what they’re looking at is AI"

"it’s here to stay. It’s very important to use it ethically and legally, and for studios and guilds to protect the copyright of the artists"

I can't get over how he trashed Beyonce! the pinnacle of hypocrisy.
tarabennett.bsky.social
I was at the Conan podcast on Sunday & the audience was not buying him at all. Super cringe whining that buried him deeper when he could have just said, "Yeah, I was a hypocrite even if I saw some cultural good could come of it."

tell me a book you've read recently that you loved.
