I’ve had terrible trouble with my ears for the last 6 weeks (ETD), including a weird and not so wonderful variety of tinnitus. I was woken up this morning by what I thought was another new sound…only to find it was a wren that had somehow got into the bedroom and was flapping round my head!

Jeez look at the time. Two solo gigs await this weekend. Not recommended with ETD :-/. Still… there is Indian street food at tomorrow’s venue. This is not the life I was expecting. At all. Weird.

Whilst realising there are people with far, far worse problems, it has been a trying few weeks. Third week of really awful ear infection, car diagnosed with serious and very expensive problems, floods all around and the ground so soggy, a tree uprooted and fell on the roof today. :-/

This is the weirdest (and possibly most unpleasant) infection I’ve ever had. Probably against my better judgment I’m going to do the gig tonight. Times like this I really miss being part of a duo.

Most horrible ear infection… deaf in one ear with raging tinnitus. A bit panicky that it won’t improve as I’m in my third week of this now. :-/.

I had a birthday yesterday (Monday), and maybe for the first time, I’ve really felt such intense appreciation for the people in my life. Who knows how long I’ll have them all or how long they’ll have me? I’m getting old and I just want to stop fretting over a load of bollocks and just enjoy life. X
