The Battle of Holbeck Moor took place in Leeds on 27 September 1936, when Oswald Mosley’s British Union of Fascists attempted a march through the city. Their original route through the Jewish quarter was blocked, but they regrouped and headed for Holbeck Moor, daubing swastikas in the Leylands 1/3

OTD 29 August in 1895, a meeting was held at the George Hotel in Huddersfield where 21 northern rugby clubs, voted to break away from the Rugby Football Union (RFU) to form the Northern Rugby Football Union, which would become known as the Rugby Football League.

1 Leeds Rd, (Belgravia Towers), St. John's, Wakefield where Joseph Judge a flour & corn dealer was living in 1891. His son Fred set up Judges Postcards in Hastings in 1903. Joseph was from Winteringham, Lincs & his father Charles was a farmer, miller & dealer from Smarden, nr Ashford, Kent.

It's holiday time & many of you would have heard of Judges Postcards who have existed since 1903 & have produced over 32,000 main series sepia tone & black & white cards & 800 London cards. They still exist today.
Fred Judge their founder was from Wakefield.
His parents Joseph & Harriet had him /1
