6/ I've been following Trump's destruction of the NWS since it began. Things have only gotten worse since I wrote this in late June after the tornadoes that rolled across the Midwest, Kentucky, etc:

It is vital that when and if Dems gain decisive power over government, they take specific legislative actions to make sure a Trump can never happen again. But it is equally vital that they not do so before USING every precedent that Trump has established to reverse the impact of his reign...

Gavi has helped vaccinate more than 1.1 billion children worldwide. Cutting ties with this organization and spreading misinformation about vaccine safety will kill children, plain and simple. www.washingtonpost.com/health/2025/...

Gavi works to expand access to vaccines for children in some of the world’s poorest countries. Health experts say the move could have deadly consequences.

I often see these comments-often from people with completely opposite ideas about what "the voters" are demanding.

What we all need to internalize is that those who want a sharp left turn in the DNC and those that want it moderated have to function in 1 party and stop being so sure of everything.
I want people to really start internalizing the change demanded by voters in the Democratic Party.

You don’t have to fully agree, but it’s the only path towards victory again.

It is not enough to understand that Trump is a criminal. The Republican party is a criminal organization. They have proven that they do not care about national security, family values, or anything else they dishonestly sound off about.
Republicans just blocked their own "big, beautiful bill" that would kick millions of Americans off their health care...because it doesn't cut Medicaid enough.

In Trump’s first 100 days, he:

-Attacked the NLRB
-Gutted worker health & safety research
-Delayed a rule protecting miners from black lung
-Ended DOL grants fighting child labor
-Lowered the minimum wage for 300K+ federal contractors

It's an all-out war on workers.

Now, I sure as hell did not think Elon Musk was a genius. As a matter of fact, I don't mean to brag but I was one of the few people who thought he was an idiot way back in the day. But I didn't think he was dumb enough to be out-foxed by Trump.

Well, I feel safer. Don't you? They were probably human traffickers and terrorists.
Donald Trump isn’t just illegally removing U.S. citizens from the country without due process.

He’s illegally removing U.S. citizens who are literal children undergoing care for cancer.

Strongly agree. But in addition to the 'professional cynics', I think we all, as Democrats and those further left, need to learn how to criticize each other without creating false equivalencies or creating infighting. It's one of our greatest flaws.
This is such an important point

This is corruption

these people hate DEI because they would be unemployable in any system where they couldn’t rely on favoritism and nepotism

Magnanimous of him to include us like that. Truly the man to unite this country.

Also, the way he embodies Christian values is just beautiful.

This might sound like a long shot, but I feel like the Chicago Bulls should be able to sue someone for the implication that anyone who wears their merchandise is a valid candidate for deportation and incarceration without due process for being a gang lord and terrorist.

Glad she made this statement, but for the life of me can't understand it--what Republicans think they'll accomplish with timid statements of concern and criticism. You'll be hung for a sheep or a lamb. Either be a stooge, or unite with Democrats to defeat dictatorship.

Let's take a moment and consider where we are. Trump is refusing to comply with the orders of a federal judge after being ordered to comply by SCOTUS (a 9-0 decision, no less). There can be no question that we are now in a full-on constitutional crisis. The rules for opposing him have to change...
I can’t believe he’s not wearing a tie. Outrageous display of disrespect.

They are willing to let this POS tell insane lies. But remember how they freaked out when Michelle Obama tried to get kids to eat better and exercise more? And, BTW, how is the funding for nutritional research these days?
The U.S. Secretary of Health and Human Services has repeatedly claimed: “If you’re healthy, it’s almost impossible to die from an infectious disease in modern times.”

That is dangerously false.

I just want to point out one thing. Every woman I have ever dated knows, whether they want to admit it or not, that I am the greatest lover who ever lived.
