Minister defends 'pragmatic' U-turn on workers' rights.

It was a manifesto pledge

Why no 'pragmatic' U-turn' on nationalising water, energy, rail rolling stock companies and freight; ending privatisation of the NHS and social care; taxing the super rich?
Minister defends 'pragmatic' U-turn on workers' rights
Bridget Phillipson told the BBC the climbdown would enable wider benefits to be delivered quickly.

Marjorie Taylor Green has been a MAGA loon for 10 years and lived a safe and secure life.

She’s been anti Trump for two weeks and has had multiple death threats, pipe bomb threats and a credible threat to kidnap and kill her son.

But, both sides…..

I'm old enough to remember when there wasn't a Green Party (or Ecology Party, or People Party)
Fixing stuff costs money.
Tax us! Tax us all to hell... :)

But tax the rich all the more!
I'm definetly on the @zackpolanski.bsky.social bandwagon.

What a night for the Scottish Co-efficient.

None of us lost.
Only one of us won.
Only one of us got a choob sent off.
And only one of us isn't in the bottom 4 of their European League thing.

Ok.
Kebab shop for the second time in less than a week.
Celtic win away in Europe.
Have a drink.
Have a treat.
It won't happen again.
He says.
Crazy night. And I still love Martin O'Neill.

(I really don't want this spell in charge to spoil his reputation.)

Is everybody using their TAV Pen money on a Braga win, or have I just double jinxed it?
November 27, 2025 at 8:55 PM
Well, well, well. Didn't see that game. Didn't see that result coming. That's magic, Martin. Just magic. The Celtic Board are still complicit in utter neglect.
November 27, 2025 at 7:54 PM
Whoop whoop. I am not watching the game, but getting beeps on my phone. Are we in nosebleed territory, yet?
I wish I'd put a pound on Celtic at 1-0 down.

I'd have laid it off by now of course.

I'm old enough to remember Hatate, Maeda and Yang from some of our previous managers....

People are fucking stupid. Although it is early in the day for their stupid question of the day thing, so it might change.

Ooft. Minimum adult season ticket at Celtic is £608.
£11.8 million in tax.
That's 19,407 season ticket holders' money going straight to the taxman for making too much profit. (Not counting staff tax, of course.)
Fucking ridiculous.

On Truss & Kwarteng in ‘22. Allister Heath, Telegraph: “the best budget I have ever heard a British chancellor deliver". Alex Brummer, Mail: “a genuine Tory package elbowing to one side the Treasury's fiscal conservatism".
These men will now be paid actual money for their analysis of today’s budget.

See Ajax.... Celtic would have been twelve times worse of we had qualified for that Champions League.

That is fantistic in its simplicity and "doability".
I hope someone who has Rachel Reeves' ear has read it.
Dividends are taxed at marginal rates of 8.75%, 33.75%, and 39.35%, no national insurance is levied.

Wages taxed at 20%-45% +NIC.

Aligning taxation of dividends with wages could raise £6bn a year. Even higher if national insurance is also charged.
This is how Rachel Reeves could deliver a progressive budget
The chancellor has an opportunity to boost the public purpose and deliver redistribution

Farage can now be easily boxed in to a corner where his only ‘defence’ becomes: “Yes I spouted Kremlin propaganda & Putin worship but, unlike Nathan Gill, I didn’t need bribes to do it.”
It is, once again, a question of whether interviewers have the temerity to shut down his whining obfuscations.
