So thrilled with how these came out. It was tough to pick favorites. I'm not walking next week, but y'all celebrate with me! Got my master's in communications with a 4.0 from @syracuseu.bsky.social.
Patriotism is psychologically ingrained in me. Even learning more details about how my ancestors were treated, I still get excited when the Patriots rip victory from the jaws of defeat.

There's a meme about this and the swelling of pride during the Olympics. #AmericanRevolution

The Education Department responded to backlash about reducing the number of professional degrees.

My latest for @al.com

Student loan updates 2025: Is nursing still a professional degree?
About 80% of the nursing workforce does not have a graduate degree.

The small town of Orrville, which has a population around 150 residents, is about to get its very first public library.

So many issues...I actually got bored watching TLJ. So glad @jamellebouie.net mentioned Rogue One. I was not nearly as enamored with it as everyone else.

Solo should be farther down for sure.

I don't get the Skywalker hate. It had retcons but TLJ was FAR FAR worse. (Floating Leia, anyone?)
haven’t seen ROS or Solo but this seems like a pretty ball-knowing list from Pritzker, particularly if he volunteered the name “Star Wars” rather than “A New Hope”

I cover higher ed. Student newspapers have scooped me several times. This may be an unpopular opinion, but I *love* it when that happens.

Student journos are desperately needed and deserve wins.

I've loved establishing relationships with students from The Crimson White at UA. #JournalismSky

A few things:

1: Doug Jones running for governor has been hinted at for months. I was told to ask him back at a Trump protest during UA's May commencement.

2: Getting scooped isn't "embarrassing." It happens. We can't always be first.

3: Polls are polls. They generally reflect historical trends.
This is great news for Alabama. But has to be embarrassing for Al.com to get scooped by a smaller online news media. Plus they criticized. Al.com for falling for the fake poll on Tuberville. By this should be headline news on your site.

I've never watched a recorded game where I was fairly sure I knew the score and my team lost.

But that Eagles/Cowboys game was absolutely insane! I am speechless.

I saw a post earlier that said something like "Were we expecting a fist fight to break out in the Oval Office between Trump and Mamdani?" That would have made for some wild news for sure.

60% of eligible Black voters turned out in Alabama for Obama in 2012, and it hasn't been that high ever since.

Here's an earlier story from @rchapoco.bsky.social at @alabamareflector.com with the data and potential reasons.

Study: Racial voter turnout gap in Alabama in 2024 was highest in two decades | Alabama Reflector
Restrictive voting laws that were introduced in many Republican-led states such as Alabama may be to blame for the divide.

Old lady rant: Dang, people gotta know everything. I just saw a post on Facebook with the episode names and run times for Stranger Things season 5.

Can't we be patient and just figure out things? I don't need to know this now. Let there be SOME mystery.

I'm not allowed to give public political opinions. However, I am considering buying or checking out the controversial Fairhope Public Library books to see what the fuss is about.

I know I've read at least one already (The Hate U Give) and seen an adaptation of another (Ready Player One).

Threads: Where you read the complete opposite of a hot take. In fact, it's a very popular opinion.

My 6th grade teacher wanted our class to create a newspaper. I wanted to be an advice columnist and offered my wisdom by accepting Qs in a small basket.

Of course, no one needed my help. My teacher made me the editor instead.

About 30 of the last 40-something years I've been a journalist.
What’s the lore behind choosing your career path ?
