Who wants to see my new favorite breakfast sandwich?
A delicious scrambled-egg grilled-cheese breakfast sandwich. Get like 1 to 1.5 tablespoon of plain cream cheese out of the fridge and let it soften. Crack two eggs in a bowl, add plenty of salt, let sit for ten minutes before whisking. Add fresh-ground black pepper, cayenne pepper, herbs, etc to taste. Get out two slices of american cheese. If you don’t like american cheese, get out some other kind of cheese you like, as long as it is very fast melting and gets creamy when it melts. This is not the time for your favorite aged chedder cheese.
Get two slices of sturdy white bread, put them in a toaster, and pull them out just before they start changing color. We want the LaCroix of toast here; just stiffen them up a bit more than anything. Put them on a plate and let them cool back down slightly and top each slice with your american cheese.
Put a pat of butter in a pan and get it foaming on medium heat. Pour in your whisked eggs and scramble them hard and fast. If it takes more than a minute, your pan wasn’t hot enough. Fold in the softened cream cheese you had out, then scoop them onto your prepared cheese-and-bread. Close up the sandwich and set it by the stove.
Get just a bit more butter in a clean pan over medium-low heat. Just before the butter is going to start foaming, slide in your sandwich and toast until golden brown on both sides. Slice sandwich in half and serve immediately.

Happy Trans Day of Visibility! It’s been seven years now that I’ve been an out trans woman, and a decade since I became a full-time TTRPG person - hard to say which changed my life more lmao

Much love to all my trans siblings out there - you’re beautiful and I’m proud of you all💖

the existential terror of when you have an ikea thing and its ability to store all your crap has been maxed out so you go to the website to buy the storage accessory for your ikea thing that you couldn’t afford at the time only to find out that your ikea thing has been discontinued

I spent a couple decades not transitioning because I was like "that seems like so much effort and will it even be worth it? probably not?" before I realized I didn't have to do everything all at once.

And I was TODAY YEARS OLD when I realized "hey that sounds like an executive dysfunction issue".

apropos of, well, everything - reposting this one from 2019.
a black and white illustration of two mythological Jewish creatures - the Ziz (giant bird) and Leviathan (giant sea monster) - tearing apart a Nazi swastika flag. Yiddish text overhead reads "mir veln zey iberlebn" ("we will outlive them")

I've been unable to find which website would have this, or where it may be. Can you give any more hints?

There will be people in your communities who have fought these battles before. Learn from their experiences; these lessons were paid for in blood.

Hope is hard work, but despair will kill you. Let's resolve to set aside fear for courage. Take care of yourselves and your communities. I love you.

Dehumanization and scapegoating are weapons which only ever serve the enemy. Learn how to recognize these weapons when you see them, and speak out whenever they are employed, even if by someone who is supposedly on your side.

The playbook from the first Trump administration is mostly still relevant. Many things will be different but more will be the same as they were. The general patterns by which we resist the authoritarian machine are still valid: Do not obey in advance. Make connections with people.

Part of this is to know your own limits; everyone can do something, but nobody can spend their every moment in the fight. Manage yourself so that you can work for a better future without burning yourself up in the process.

Remember the airplane rule: secure your own mask first before helping others, but **do help others**. We have to stand together. We cannot break ranks if we want to survive.

And these wins will often be small, and they will often be conditional. We will have to keep defending them for the rest of our lives; this is not pleasant to hear, but it is the truth, and we must not shy away from the truth.

From now on, every day we wake up is a win. Every time we stand up and say we will not be silenced and we will not ignore the suffering of others; that's a win. Every life we save, every right-wing policy we delay or frustrate or block, these are wins.

This is not a story. We will not win by blowing up the Death Star or by dropping the Ring into the fires of Mount Doom. We will not win in one single moment, but through a long twilight struggle.

Like many of you, I didn't think this outcome was truly possible. I believed that enough people would pay attention to what's been happening these past several months, and do the right thing. I was wrong.
