Timothy Snyder’s book is an important easy read. But this 8 minute video is an even easier to consume summary.
Here is my best guidance for action, rendered beautifully by the great John Lithgow. I first published these lessons more than eight years ago, in late 2016. They open the twenty chapters of "On Tyranny: Twenty Lessons from the Twentieth Century."

Just a reminder: having a functional moral compass right now is going to make you feel bad all the time; don’t mistakenly hate yourself for that.

@durbin.senate.gov do you have an opinion on the Atlantic story? Perhaps you could take action like I’ve been asking for and get in front of a microphone to call for resignations and investigations?

On another note, I’d like the media to start pinning down Republicans on whether or not they intend to run for President in the open primary in 2028.

Mexico is Texas' largest trading partner.

Trump's 25% tariffs aren't just going to raise prices - they're going to put Texans out of business.

Many Texas truck operators, warehousing companies, car dealers, and more won't survive this tax hike.

If you’ve got 16 minutes on this MLK day, here’s one of my favorite of his speeches. “Where do we go from here.” If you don’t have 16 minutes, the last 4 are particularly relevant this year.

“Let us be dissatisfied until…”
