I’m not on here a lot because my life is in shambles, but I was catching up on some “discourse,” and it’s just depressing. It’s all so damn depressing. Makes me happy not to be so dialed in.

Some great news: I just got off the phone with the U.S. Coast Guard, who has returned the rescue helicopter to Newport and promised to keep it there. This is a big win to keep fishermen and the Newport community safe.
Oregon is suing the Trump administration for relocating, without notice, a Coast Guard rescue helicopter that has saved lives in dangerous waters near Newport. storage.courtlistener.com/recap/gov.us...

My stepdad is dead, so we finally moved my mom to an assisted living space. They were the very definition of “fixed income” seniors. Today, we got a notice that their old retirement home was going to raise their rent by $550/month or $6,600/year. This isn’t sustainable, folks. The U.S. is a joke.

I’ve been rushing to get my mom out of her independent living place. In the rush, my wife told me to put my mom’s wedding ring in my pocket. For three weeks, she had me convinced it fell out of my pocket at the pub. Also tore the house apart. Today, wife found it in her jewelry box…where she put it.
