Use optimism as an act of rebellion
By the time this actually comes out, this will be so embarrassing and everyone involved will deserve it
I teased this last night in What I’m Hearing but now confirmed: Paramount WILL release Rush Hour 4 after prodding from Trump on behalf of Brett Ratner. Distribution deal. Producer Tarak Ben Ammar is lining up financing. Get ready for the dumbest possible state-controlled media.

Spent the morning rejiggering the MediaOCD website. Much more product available on the home page, also added product search. When I originally designed it, I didn't realize the web store would be such a big part of the business.

Why is everyone so paranoid about bootleg anime DVDs again, out of the blue? More importantly, why are people still buying DVDs!?
Blu-rays are almost impossible to pirate at scale – you have to burn every single one.

The third best thing you can do is tell others how much you enjoy that author's work, by writing a review.
If you like an author's work, the best thing you can do is buy it. The second best thing you can do is ask your local library to buy it. Or, do both!
A reminder that the median book deal for a debut author in the UK is £7000, paid over 12-18 months. (from 2022 Society of Authors report). Some of your favourite writers are struggling. societyofauthors.org/2022/12/06/a....

Seeing how much of the right-wing on Twitter is just bot farms, kinda lays bare how much hate and hatred is a project that needs to be constantly maintained, a fire that needs to be fed all the time lest it go out for a moment, so much time, effort, and resources to keep people angry and hateful.

Absolutely the All About Bubblegum Crisis booklet I edited for AnimEigo!

It was a thrill and honor polish up a handful interviews from a series that got me back into anime in a big way!

You have to stay for the idol group that's on next. It might not seem like a big deal, but one of them is retiring. Watch out for gang violence.
So this little stage show they're doing rules and it's wildly surreal to witness in a mall.

PSA: the virus I had this week , with a low grade fever and throat blisters so bad you can’t even drink water, appears to be going around. Runs its course in a week, but it is HELL. If you get it, ask your doc for Prednisone (incl a cough syrup), and stock up on Advil, Tylenol and meduca honey.

I've been seeing this headline floating around. To be clear:

1) This is "No. 1" on a miniscule chart, The "Country Digital Song Sales" chart, as in people actually paying money to download country songs which is a tiny amount of people

2) The actual consumers are almost certainly fake
