Delivery robots are a techbrained "solution" (just like every other tech startup) that's attempting to "fix" the lack of infrastructure investment for the last 4 decades. Put in a damn bike lane.

Like, shut off the power to the Broadview facility. Dump truckloads of gravel on Beach Street. Let them try to fight it in the courts if they want. Now is not the time to worry about the propriety of such actions

The acronym would probably be DST, because the agents wouldn't want the acronym for the Science and Technology Directorate on a patch they have to wear lol

You're basically correct, they're a munition that breaks upon contact and release a capsaicinoid powder, liquid, gas, or aerosol. Manufacturers stipulate that the launchers for these munitions should not be aimed above the waist, as pepperball rounds can still cause injury or death.

I've long said that cars and the space devoted exclusively to cars are the methods by which fascism is incubated and spread. I did not want to be proven right so quickly and decisively. The only way we get out of this long term is a complete obliteration of personal vehicles as a concept.

Streets are the largest public spaces in modern society.

Surrendering them for the sole use of cars allows maintaining the right of way to be used as pretext to suppress lawful assembly.

We’ve been shoved around by state cops with batons. They’ve already arrested one person for being in the street.

The most recent Watanabe project, Lazarus, includes much better trans rep, but the rest of the writing is not great. Spoilers, but Skinner is shown in episode 3 (I literally pointed at the screen), and the plots in the remaining 10 episodes aren't all that engaging or realistic in-universe.

Bebop gave me some very unrealistic expectations for dubs lol. The Grim episodes haven't aged super well, but the rest of the show is still pretty great.

the US if tylenol caused autism
An updated, joke version of the US HSR System map created by Alfred Twu. The lines are nonsensical in their routings and destinations, serving such fabulous destinations as Unincorporated Santa Clara County, CA, Lubbock, TX, Evanston, IL, Chestnut Hill, MA, New Brunswick, NJ, and Starkville, MS.

And I can clearly see in the historical records (and in what little transit infrastructure that remains), the bones of a society that didn't have this alienation built in, and I weep for what could've been if the course had been stayed. If we hadn't destroyed our cities for cars.

I think this narrative is the core of my urbanism. We've made participation in society so expensive through our urban infra choices, and those choices are self reinforcing and serve only to alienate people from the society they no longer have to interact with and now drive through.

The post text is as follows:
I can't count the amount of times I've seen grown men and women break down in tears because they can't afford to fix their cars that they rely on to live their entire lives. The economy is so bad right now and we can only discount things so much to make enough profit to keep corporate off our backs. It's sickening to see an elderly man tear up because his only income is doordash and he can't afford to fix the car he literally needs to do it, or a single mother cry because she only has $30 and an unrepairable tire. Sometimes I have to step aside and cry for them myself. I hate what this economy is doing to people.

Would this stop spacing update change anything about the transit proximity parking minimums (I don't remember the rules for parking minimums near bus routes)?

Look, we have a map of the area to charge drivers, say, $5 to enter between 6am-9pm on weekdays and 9am-9pm weekends.
