Driving home from the airport, missed my exit (3 km from our house). One hour detour to get home (again), no money at the toll gate, they don't accept mobile payment, unlike every other place in the entire country, so my wife had to beg 50p from the lorry driver behind us how's your day going 😂

Here is my build of the Dora Wings 1/48 DeHavilland Canada DHC2 Beaver or L20A in US Service.
Built from 1947-67 around 1650 were produced with many in service today! I highly recommend the kit BUT its a complicated, fussy build w/ some vague instructions.🙂

Soviet BT-5 "fast tank". The thing on the turret is not, as I thought, a hand rail for tank riders 🤦♂️ it seems to be a radio antenna (right?) indicating that this is a command tank. Seems very fragile. I guess the commander would not want infantry swinging from it 😄

This was a ‘big build’ from a while ago…lots of mistakes in it too but it’s one of my favourite efforts at any sort of tank…I think it‘s reasonably accurate if not perfectly curated…🤷♂️🫣

Canadian-built M4A1 Sherman, known as the Grizzly. Only 188 were produced, making this a rare survivor. This one stands outside the Vrijheidsmuseum in Groesbeek in the colours of the Sherwood Rangers, who fought in this area in 1944.

I’ve seen a few posts about the Lewis Chessmen recently and decided to buy a replica set. These are beautifully made from a stone/resin mix and have a lovely weight to them. I want to make a board for them and I’m thinking oak with bronze and bone inlays and a border carved with elder futhark runes.
