Such a clever way to catch time travelers. 😈

"Pluribus" on Apple TV is so, sooo good! 🤓 Just started streaming it - an absolute masterpiece, eh. As a sci-fi guy and a writer and a filmmaker, I can't praise it enough. 💖

“Poetry, I feel, is a tyrannical discipline. You’ve got to go so far so fast in such a small space; you’ve got to burn away all the peripherals.”

Trolling level: expert. 🤣🤣🤣
I truly hope if you're downloading books that you download one of the ones that are uploaded with the fake endings, the random "and then he shit in her mouth and turned her into a zombie" that i know someone is adding that to her romance books & has her sister upload dozens of versions of that.

"We don't know what will be here" = such hauntingly beautiful last words.

Just finished going through over a dozen short story calls on Duotrope. Most said nothing about compensation, despite waxing lyrically about everything else...

Two possibilities exist:
1. They were deliberately coy.

As in, "Congrats, you're accepted! $0 is fine, right?" Highly uncool...

I've just found a little trick to make Facebook less chaotic:
Settings & Privacy ➡️ Settings ➡️ Content Preferences ➡️ Political Content ➡️ Suggest Political Content ➡️ turn it off!

I know for a fact I've never touched that setting. Apparently, Zuckerberg had it as a default setting... 🤬

I once knew a Federal bank examiner, and one time someone asked him why we had to KEEP inspecting banks over and over. He basically said every new batch of business school grads invents bank fraud from first principles.
AirBnB CEO calling it “vibe revenue” just 👨‍🍳 😘

The underlying cause of every bubble - debt masquerading as financial innovation - depends on not just short financial memory & speculative neophytism, but reinventing jargon of finance, like how each generation of kids has new ways to say same things.

I've just filled out my first-ever government grant application. 😮 (CALQ - the art council of Québec.) Even more intimidating than the writer-in-residence applications! But if this works, that'll be 3 months of living expenses while working on my next book. 😎

If you're a writer, I'd go so far as to say it's essential reading to develop your craft, to dig deep into your characters and their emotions (as well as your own), and to go eyeball-close with your line edits!

To everyone saying that people in our military already know not to follow unlawful orders, how do you explain almost 100 civilians murdered on fishing boats in the Caribbean so far?

I've heard this song so many many times but it was only tonight, singing it at karaoke, that I got this line:
"Eleanor Rigby picks up the rice
in the church where a wedding has been."

Holy cow. What a beautiful, sharp way to describe abject poverty. 😭
