Today I discovered that when you duplicate a meeting in MS Teams it uses THE SAME LINK. Why would I want that?! Who wants that? That's a recurring meeting! HONESTLY.

I wish I didn’t have to share this. But the BBC has decided to censor my first Reith Lecture.

They deleted the line in which I describe Donald Trump as “the most openly corrupt president in American history.” /1

Glasman has such a sepia-tinted view of class, and zero ability to recognise the way economy and society has changed - in good and bad ways. Precarity, the new working class - there is lots of good thinking about this. To call him a third-rate theorist would be an insult to third-rate theorists.
there's a lot to unpack here Lord Glasman

Please sign this petition to register opposition to Northumbria University effectively stealing staff pensions by trying to forcibly move them from TPS to USS: this could create a terrible precedent (especially vital for UoG). Pensions are deferred pay & part of your agreement on working conditions!

Makes *some* of us happier.

Sure it helps if you have a nice house and reasons to be stuck home. Some of us need a mix or balance of things: and the removal of proper work spaces is not okay.

There are some truly unhinged bits in the piece about Glasman, as to be expected when dealing with Glasman, but seriously what the actual? That's...one hell of a conflation of terminology.

I'm getting some colleagues saying they refuse to vote in the UCU ballot for industrial action as the union hasn't helped them. Well, it's your life and if you don't want us to take action that's your right. But only do that if you genuinely want the union to do less!

If people in your team or organisation are using AI notetakers as a way of coping with too many meetings and a culture of presenteeism, there's not a technological fix for this. The answer is to have fewer, better organised meetings www.careful.industries/blog/2025-11...

Result for Nottingham! That was quick. Please, though it's exhausting, keep up the fight. All of us need to protect not only our workplaces and work conditions but also the social values our work (teaching and researching in the humanities) uphold and strengthen.
In response to our industrial action, the university proposed a resolution that removed the threat of compulsory redundancies for the next year and introduced a negotiation process over course closures. And at our branch meeting, we accepted this offer.
