No page reads on Kindle Unlimited for almost 2 months now. I think I'll end this experiment in April when my renewal comes up. I gave it a good try but dark, character-driven Asian fantasy clearly has no audience on there. It's not worth limiting my options anymore.

From the moment I started reading, I couldn’t put it down. Fortunately, the author has already released the first chapter of the second book as a downloadable preview — I’m hoping the full sequel arrives soon. What stood out most to me was the strong focus on character. Four individuals begin their journeys, each trying to understand their unique abilities while living under the strict rules of a nation inspired by Imperial China. This isn’t a story with simple heroes or villains; it’s a tale of fractured loyalties, hidden truths, and people pushed far beyond who they believed themselves to be. Alongside these character arcs, the blend of magic and mystery adds real depth to the story. There’s always something unexpected waiting around the corner — especially when the ambitious shape‑shifting spirit appears. I wholeheartedly recommend this book and give it a full 5 out of 5.
