Did I read the climo report correctly - OKC airport has officially recorded 1.8” of snow from this storm?

Nothing says Oklahoma winter storm quite like having waves of sleet and sleet/snow mix with temperatures of 9-10 F.

Flight on Sunday from OKC to HOU for the AMS meeting already cancelled by Southwest. Rebooked for Monday afternoon - hopefully I can get out then. 🫤
January 23, 2026 at 1:38 PM
UPDATE: The Travel Alert is out and Southwest is now allowing passengers to change their flights free of charge.

HOWEVER, since I booked my flight through @sapcommunity.bsky.social Concur, I have to change it through Concur. When I do that, Concur wants to charge $160 for the change. 🙃

Advice?
Hey, Southwest Airlines, when are you going to issue a Travel Alert for the winter storm and allow your passengers to change their flights?

I’m not sure if I am ever going to be able to get to Houston for the AMS meeting, if these accumulations actually happen.

We are 5-6 days away from a potential winter storm in Oklahoma. Run to run variability is very high right now with this storm, including timing, track, and intensity.

Nevertheless, this map is making the rounds on social media.

Does this forecast accurately reflect the storm or the science?

Academics - Anyone using Lockdown Browser in your courses for online exams? If so, can you share your experience with it? Also, do you use Respondus Monitor with your students?

Thanks!

I am finding myself listening much more to "Lite Rock" stations over pop or other music stations.

I think I am officially now "middle-aged." :)
