Hell yeah, get it Queen 👑 Live your best life 🐄

(one of my little joys is rooting for these gals while drinking my morning tea)
That uncanny feeling when Spotify tells me I'm in the .05% of fans for Dear Hank and John, and Bluey

...because those are part of my kids morning and bedtime routines. It definitely feels much more eerie as a parent, than the "silly fun" it felt years ago as the solo adult.
When I say Spotify is Surveillance, I don’t just mean it’s creepy that they are tracking what music you listen to and using that data to serve ads.

I mean your Spotify data is deeply intimate and can be used to glean information about you like your daily habits, your moods, and more.

My great-grandmother had a shortbread recipe that she brought over from Scotland. Apparently it was a recipe passed down in her family, and was delicious

One year, her brother and sister in law come to visit. After leaving, her recipe book is missing

SIL makes shortbread that Christmas back home
yes, hello, I would like to place an order for everyone’s funniest stories of holiday food-related family grudges / drama / chaotic incidents / lore

I feel like we need this

It’s widely known (and, I think, pretty uncontroversial) that learning requires effort — specifically, if you don’t have to work at getting the knowledge, it won’t stick.

Even if an LLM could be trusted to give you correct information 100% of the time, it would be an inferior method of learning it.
Relying on ChatGPT to teach you about a topic leaves you with shallower knowledge than Googling and reading about it, according to new research that compared what more than 10,000 people knew after using one method or the other.

The trans community’s trust in the NHS’ new puberty blocker trial is low and I can’t help but wonder whether they could have prevented that by involving ANY trans people in its design or operation, and maybe not involving several people who have attended conferences of anti-LGBTQ hate groups

It's Trans Day of Remembrance.

They won't ever be able to get rid of us, no matter what. No amount of hateful legislation can change the fact of our existence.

Finally, about five years later, my kids and I are going out to buy our own Christmas tree! 🙌🎄

In last years, I've borrowed one or trudged out to the mountains to cut one down (with permit)
Buuuut we all agreed sweeping up needles is no fun, and we want one of our own!

Saskatoon berry grunt or blueberry grunt is literally one of my favorite desserts to make and eat, and especially to serve

I never tire of the baffled look visiting friends give me when I say we're having Grunt for dessert 😂
okay. so there are often a few dessert recipes that share things (type of dish; fruit) in common but this is really kicked up for fall. just about everything that isn’t pumpkin is apple or pear & one of the variety of “baked fruit w/ starch on top”, to the point where they offer a guide to the types

It isn't perfect, but I made this piece for my lil lassie for her birthday. I finally managed to finish it this week.

(The creative block is brutal, but anything for my kids will keep me plodding through it)
