Her round face and cheerful demeanor was what all of Annie’s customers loved about her, and her cheeks were flush as she came in with a fresh plate of triple chocolate cookies. “Get them while they’re hot, folks!” she cried out.

She loves others so strongly and so deeply but honestly can't fathom people would feel the same. The willingness to put her life on the line for the sake of others without expecting the same is, again, just a flaw that this event really changed and redefined her relationship with the scions

This is just canon Ely but for wol!Ely the thing that makes it difficult to call out is she is very particular and she gives silent treatment and is very quick to push back. If you push too hard, you'll be met with her bullheadedness but if you don't push enough, she won't open up either.

To elaborate, it's not that I don't think any of the Scions don't care about her nor that they haven't realized there's issues. It stems from the fact that Elysia is VERY good at keep people at arm's length while feeling very close to you. It's one of her major flaws as a character.

It's this particular event that I think really set up the scene where all the Scions realized how much they never truly realized how deeply traumatized Elysia is. Not just from the event itself but quite literally everything. She actually breaks down right then and there, full blown sobbing.

SNAP isn't about "people who don't work." It's about people who don't get paid enough to live.

* Two-thirds are children, seniors, or disabled

* Most working-age adults who receive SNAP are employed—but in jobs that pay poverty wages

This event was just the one time she couldn't get right back into it but it's also where she's finally vulnerable to people she cares for deeply, that are family to her. It's also where I imagine one of the bigger scenes between Elysia & Thancred happen. Their friendship is REALLY important.

Elysia has always stood up, always gotten back up but the worst thing she does is always be in control of how she is perceived. There are, of course, moments of weakness but she is THE warrior of light. She doesn't stay down. She buckles but she WILL get back up and keep fighting.

there's other verses i put her in that i try to transfer over a lot of her background if i can fit into the setting but sometimes i will adjust it to make her fit better in a story. i think, though, that the main theme in all of these is the exploration of grief in some form.

i feel like with LADS, while i still don't know a LOT of the lore besides my vague understanding it, while it fits the whole multiple lives in ely's og story, i think the biggest thing is how she grows up in the current story makes her more spunky, still playful and flirty but it's interesting

I always say if I had played ffxiv more recently, she'd have ended up as a rdm/dnc main (since i am a sucker for ely with a rapier) but because i started on 2015, pld just ended up somehow fitting and that almost changes so much of her character typing if that makes sense

Train of thought: While Elysia usually has the same core personality, there's something about how each version of her in each game/setting i put her in affects that and will have these little differences that I find really interesting.
