Well. I guess be careful out there because Yahoo is big mad that the community tried to revive AOL Instant Messenger and seemingly C&D’d Nina.chat and are also going after people who have shown it off on YouTube. Incredible.

I shouldn't jinx this but:

17 Pro Max arrived. Getting it set up and this was so worth it. My 15 Pro Max needed to be kept in front of the air conditioner when setting it up. The 17PM is just lukewarm and not uncomfortably hot AT ALL.

Apple wasn't kidding on the thermals, at least so far.

If it’s something you like, the food court pays for itself.

Past that it’s also a nice way to dodge inflation if you can buy in bulk, noticed prices haven’t really gone up in the last year like they have everywhere else.

Apple could have slam dunked this and said "we've been working on AI, we called it ML" but they completely and totally biffed that message and instead tried to jump on the gimmick and it blew up in their faces. See what happens when you cave to investor fads? Sigh.

It makes me sad that ML stuff got thrown under the AI umbrella because it's genuinely useful unlike the rest of the AI junk (like LLMs) that got forced onto us.

Why I mention this is the constant charge that Apple is "behind" in AI, when all those people mean is "Apple hasn't made a chatbot, waaah"

There's only one kind of AI I really like and it's the stuff that, say, Apple was doing before this big 'ol LLM clusterfuck. You know, the stuff they once called Machine Learning.

Because it does genuinely useful stuff! Like scanning text in photos so it becomes searchable! That stuff is useful.

Bringing the 5th gen iPod out to play for a bit with the Oppo HA-2 and the Beyerdynamic DT770s.

I really want to like this iPod. But this is the 5th gen one and they really killed this poor iPod with iOS 9. This thing is a 4S spec-wise and it didn’t run anything past 6 super great.

Only reason I'm even remotely on the ball here is I actually have the board you linked and it was due to go into a build a couple months ago and then I decided to say screw it and go Pentium 4 instead. LOL.

There is no A7N8X-E non-deluxe. The image on TRW is of a Deluxe board. Gonna shoot them an email and see if they'll fix it.
