It's now clear that the gov't are NOT proposing to repeal the Protected Landscapes duty 🙌

A huge thank you to the more than 200 charities, businesses & organisations who joined us in writing to Keir Starmer 💚

Plans to weaken Protected Landscapes Duty quietly dropped
Westminster government published its list of amendments for the Planning and Infrastructure Bill and there are no proposals to weaken protections for National Parks.

Why don’t they make it you have to quote more than 2 lines of Shakespeare from a quatrain or sonnet, that’s 99.9% of Brits out

Well let’s be honest, the ways things are going we might as well drink ourselves to oblivion

Our National Parks are at risk. ⚠️

From the rugged Lakes to the sweeping South Downs, these landscapes define us and our future. They sustain wildlife, communities and our wellbeing - and they must be protected.

A future that puts them at risk isn't what anyone voted for.
This is a council that abolished its flood committee presumably because they’re going to need a flood parliament
Thanks for a considered answer. It’s early days under the new leadership and it’s not today’s fight. However, it will need to addressed at some point if the party wants to genuinely break out. I’ll be watching the debate with interest
I am fully aware of developments in Green Party D&S policy. Sorry but ideological purity in all branches of national policy is unlikely to be a long term success strategy. How many new members are genuinely new as opposed to ex-Labour members? How do you broaden appeal to 2.2M veterans?
Are you considering joining? I’m not

We can’t afford to weaken National Park protections ⚠️

But there are rumours that some in Westminster want to remove the Protected Landscapes duty - the only real power to secure action for nature

We can't let 30 years of campaigning go down the drain

You need a credible starting position, sorry but I spent my career in defence and security, the party can’t achieve its other aims without addressing the issue
Good on you Phil, but given the other responses I’m out (for now)
If I join the Green Party can I sort you out a credible and deliverable defence and security policy?
The mail posted a very balanced article having visited the area. The comments section, wall to wall racism
I’m sure our brand new intake of 17 Reform Cllrs will be full of dogetastic ideas to save millions whilst voriciusly complaining of the non-problem of illegal immigration in the county
Shropshire Council worsening financial situation is now predicting an overspend. They and other Councils are hurtling towards bankruptcy, yet public debate consists of immigration, immigration and immigration. We are truly f…..
That ship sailed a long time ago, I hope

Climate change is already damaging the nature, beauty and heritage we care for. Without deep and sustained cuts to emissions, nature faces an even more perilous future and the places people love will continue to suffer.
