If you’re looking for a speaker for your group or organisation in the Shropshire, Telford & Wrekin or West Midlands area, I have a 20-minute talk entitled ‘Lessons Learned’ which I’d gladly share with your meeting. Among other things, it reveals why I disappeared from the radio, never to return …

It was a really heartening display or empathy & understanding from the audience.

Fiona Bruce, even though she tried to derail to favour the RW bullshit, struggled against the tide.

It's on iPlayer, & I highly recommend watching it. I can't remember the last time I watched QT let alone cheered!

I do wish there could be just one occasion where someone does a TV show here and *doesn't* open with the tired old "Shroesbury or Shrewsbury" gag, though.

With most MPs ignorant of the urgency, how can the UK ever reach net zero?

Only 15 of 100 MPs surveyed knew of IPCC report that CO2 needs to peak this year to keep global heating to 1.5C

Indeed so. And the Rug Doctor rental

I thought so, also. Using Jello Biafra quotes as a thematic device was touching. I wasn’t expecting Einsturzende Neubauten as the curtains closed, though, hence my regrettable trouser occurrence

I saw the Shropshire Star article about the farmers in Bridgnorth that painted flags on their cows. It had a video interview with them.

Asked about the cows, the first things the farmer said was “they’re a Scottish breed…”

You can’t fucking make this shit up.

I’m missing my dogs so much, I’ve been talking to a spider that’s taken up residence in the corner of the living room ceiling.

I really want another dog. I feel absolutely lost without one

In the Arun Valley, @naturalengland.bsky.social , the Environment Agency & Southern Water worked to find a potential solution that improves water quality & protects wildlife while enabling development.

That’s how good planning works: with nature, not against it. 👇

The Chancellor says she 'fixed' a problem caused by “some snails or something”.

Comments like this pit nature against growth – it’s the wrong target.

Here, the system has worked: protecting one of UK’s rarest species while allowing 20,000 homes to proceed.

A Crested Tit, with its bold spiky crest, stands on a lichen-covered branch. Its soft brown and white feathers blend into the natural tones of the landscape, while its bright red eye adds a pop of colour. Delicate cobwebs cling to the branch, creating a peaceful and autumnal scene.
