Mum & Art of Note
Today is the anniversary of Mum’s death. She died when I was 10. I went to a ballet thing while she sat at home, at the end of hope & when I came back she gave me a little handpainted trivet with a ballet dancer on it. Later that night she was taken to hospital for the last time 🧵
My lovely mum - sepia photo Mum’s death notice at Bretby Crematorium. Featuring the midwive’s crest - more painting and calligraphy I was inspired by, the dna of a lot of my art is swathed in sadness It reads: Clark, Pamela Christine SRN SCM Constantly loved and always remembered By her husband. Children, family and friends: Lived and worked by her midwives motto "Life is the gift of God." Called to higher service.

The required daily removal of faded flowers (deadheading) on my various pots of violas is one of my favorite fall/ winter morning tasks. Lets me feel accomplished without having to get dirty and can be done with a cup of coffee in hand! 🌱
