Book news! Delighted to share the cover of my next book. Out 10/02/26 @renardpress.com
Read about it here: renardpress.com/books/all-th... It’s a short novel, creeping, unsettling and a book of taboo and that’s for sure. 📚💙

A year ago I got a DPhil in Creative Writing and I share it periodically. It’s by published works so some of my already published output was part of assessment. It has new things to say about magical realism and trauma- from one who knows as scholar AND survivor.

Chats this week about AI. It’s come to my notice that a lot of folk don’t recognise an em dash in text so think it’s AI. In other em dash-related news, I use WAY too many of the critters and am now under orders to squish them before going out on submission!

I was always told I was shy. No one ever told me I was any good at talking to people. I had a tough background where I was diminished & made to feel worthless: it’s taken decades to emerge. I swallowed a lot of information. I love meeting people! I’m awkward but I’m an extrovert. Be who you are ❤️

It's very difficult to have a child with a serious chronic health condition in Gaza. This family has been suffering with the famine and the recent storms. All help deeply appreciated.

This was a difficult publishing year - things went wrong, a publisher went under, rights didn’t sell, my agent left that side of the business, and it felt miserable. But things change. Now you have THREE books from me in 2026 & with @liverpool-lit.bsky.social we’re about to go on submission!

Not been a great week so far but some good news this morning from my Australian publisher - there will be Chinese and Taiwanese editions of "How to Find a Rainbow". Wonderful that even a few years after publication (written during Covid for my daughters) it is finding new audiences.
How To Find a Rainbow
“This charming story can be read on two levels – that of two sisters in search of a physical rainbow and that of emerging from a gloomy emotional episode and beginning to find joy again.  It …
