1) So my book comes out today. Maybe you've seen some viral headlines. Which is great, but the book is also much deeper and more nuanced than all that. I spent 3 years on it, interviewed nearly 300 people. If you care about these characters or this world in any way, I really think you'll like it.

Deni Avdija's reaction to the Wizards trading him for two first round picks? “I was like, ‘Wow, that’s a lot. And seeing that, it was like, ‘They really believe in me, they really want me.’”

Wrote about Avdija's breakout, for @yahoosports.bsky.social:

Deni Avdija is now an All-Star. But just 3 years ago he was unsure about his future in the league.

“Do I really belong here?” he’d ask himself.

I spoke to Avdija about that journey, for @yahoosports.bsky.social:

On its one-year anniversary, here some of my favorite Luka trade related scoops from A HOLLYWOOD ENDING:

- Bronny shared the Shams tweet in the Lakers group chat

- AD wished the group good luck and then left the chat

- LeBron used an emoji to express his anger

- The trade was held up by Shabbat

A Sam Darnold-Patriots Super Bowl would be a real nice blow to the groin for Jets fans.

Seems like a good time to share that if you want to read more about the Jeanie Buss era of the Lakers and the franchise's relationship with LeBron, well, there's a whole book:

Just incredible reporting and an incredible story here from @baxterholmes.bsky.social , who dove into the question seemingly no one was asking: Why exactly is it that Jeanie Buss decided to sell the Lakers?

Is there a sporting event besides the NBA Cup where the announcers push the sponsor name this much? I’ve never seen company men like the entire Amazon group, feels like they all get "Emirates" in there every time.

Send me a proof of order for (email: lebronlakersbook at gmail) and I’ll send you this bookmark. It will be like you’re reading alongside LeBron! You’ll also get a bookplate made out to you or anyone (and lmk if there’s a special message)

Holiday season means I’m legally required to plug my book. That being the case, if you’re looking to gift a sports book to a loved one, how about one on the LeBron-era Lakers that was named one of @newyorker.com Best Books of 2025?
