We had a new big show up at Sunday am hoops this morning. Strong player, lithe, muscular, iron jaw, perfect hair and mustache. Looked like a guy who played a Navy pilot in a 1940s movie.
It was too many things for one man to have. Basically this guy with a wet jumper. I’m still shook.

It’s been 15 years since this has been true—coincidentally the age of our daughter—but for 10+ years my wife and I went separate directions for the holidays and it worked marvelously.

Hadn’t checked out SI in a minute, gave it a look. Killer Iggles photo called to me from an airport newsstand. Great issue. Nice story mix, smart NFL special teams feature, terrific profiles of a Scottish tackling guru & Mo’ne Davis, ballpark food fun. $25 annual print/digital. I subscribed! Again!

It's not just the prose, it's the self-pity. All she has done in this excerpt is go hiking in Malibu. Most people who lose their jobs for appallingly bad judgement cannot afford to rent a house in LA and faff around in the hills all day!

Concur 100%. It’s a perfect movie (give or take Morrow’s wayward accent). Azaria and Paymer are the exact kind of obsequious amoral sleazeballs who seem to go real far these days.
Strongly recommend watching QUIZ SHOW (directed by Robert Redford). It may feel quaint amid the shamelessness and kayfabe of modern (reality) television and how game show spectacle that follows the money is the norm, but it's a terrific film. youtu.be/bj-m3Ddmn0E?...
