Residents of the Loop, Chicago’s downtown area, live on average until they are 87. In the West Garfield Park neighborhood, the average is 67. (via @wbez.org)
There’s a 20-year life expectancy gap in Chicago. Many of these deaths are preventable.
West Garfield Park residents are expected to live on average until 67 years old, compared to Loop residents living to age 87. This is widest death gap in Chicago and the biggest gap of any big U.S. city, the most recent data shows.

Loudoun United has said who will not be returning. Who is on the list is mostly unsurprising, but the bigger concern is what happens in CBA discussions.

random afternoon thoughts:
1. is your turkey defrosted?
2. If you don't lock the door on the coffee shop restroom, being freaked out when someone walks in is on you. 🤣
3. Lots of stressed people on the roads today, getting the last-minute preparations in order. let's be careful out there!

one of the most unintentionally freeing things i've ever done was respond to a classmate doing the 'ew are you GAY' thing about something with 'maybe, now what?' because we both learned that he had nothing after that
So many men go through life like that. You can play poker because it's right-coded, you can't enjoy fruity alcoholic drinks because they're women-coded, you can't lick an ice cream cone because it's gay-coded. All day, every day, choosing and judging things based on coding for narrow norms.

Hello, all! I'm officially on a new soapbox, and we need to talk about one of the most pressing issues facing commuters in this vast and expansive country of ours: We don't have enough damn rest stops. Case in point, leaving Baltimore around 2 PM yesterday, I felt the need about half an hour after I started driving to find a place to take a 10 to 12 minute nap to make sure my driving was safe, and was therefore looking for a gas station or a restaurant with a restroom for the process.
